Earlier this year, Jordan contacted me mentioning how he was going to be asking his girlfriend, Heather, to marry him some point soon – so we started brainstorming about how fun it would be to get photos of the actual engagement happening! We’ve actually been wanting to do this for awhile.
After several months and several failed attempts at getting a date to work, we finally had a day that we could make it happen! It was somewhat of a last minute decision to go through with the portrait shoot portion of the engagement, so we didn’t have a lot of time to plan. We were first thinking that a rooftop location overlooking the city would be awesome, but at the last minute decided on a more intimate, natural setting and ended up at Maumee Bay State Park. The whole time, Heather had no idea what was about to happen. Jordan had set it up to make it seem like he wouldn’t be asking her until the Spring, and had told her that his friend was in town and needed some photos for his blog – which is technically true ;)
Once Amber and I started shooting, we played it off like we were “just warming up” before the real shooting began.
